We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Assistant Depot Manager on a full time, permanent basis. You will be based in the Oxfordshire Region.

We are looking for an Assistant Depot Manager to join our Management Team as our business continues to grow rapidly. This role would suit an ambitious assistant manager or experienced M6 supervisor who wants to progress their career into a management role

The Job
You will be responsible for the day to day resourcing /programming of new and existing Traffic Management works, liasing directly with the operatives and with the client representatives. You are responsible for aiding the Management team with the quality and cost effective running for all day to day Traffic Management operations/tasks, helping to ensure a smooth progression of works through to completion in a safe compliant and timely manner. You will also work with clients, local Council representatives, supervisors, managers, colleagues, suppliers, operatives and sub-contractors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead work planning for the depot
  • TMO Compliance checking (i.e. RAMS On/off Hire sheets, damage sheets) via tablets
  • Vehicle/equipment checks, Reports/record damages
  • Site Audits
  • OOH / on call rota
  • Monitor Stock Levels and report any shortages
  • Liaise with client on pre-siting and post site meetings
  • Ensure works comply with client, Lantra and HSE legislation
  • Report any incidents / accidents, near misses
  • Attend client and supplier meetings as and when required
  • Development of Traffic Management Operatives
  • Escalation point for clients, operatives, sub-contractors
  • Understanding and complying with relevant health and safety standards

Skills and Qualifications required:

  • Holder of a Full UK Drivers Licence
  • Minimum M6 relevant qualifications and experience
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Sound judgement and problem solving skills
  • Commercial and contractual awareness
  • Good organisation skills
